With Star Wars back in the pop culture conversation with the upcoming release of “The Mandalorian & Grogu” in May, Lego releases a new collection of Star Wars sets with the toy company’s new Smart Play technology.
Starting at $39.99 for the Luke’s Landspeeder set, the new Lego x Star Wars sets feature a wide range of characters, vehicles, and scenarios spanning the original trilogy of films. Each set features traditional Lego bricks, but also include Smart Play compatibility with various colors, trigger sounds and flashing lights from “a galaxy far, far away.”
Please note: Not all sets come with the new Smart Play bricks included. However, all sets below are compatible with Smart Play.
There are iconic characters and moments from “A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” available, including Millennium Falcon with Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO and Luke Skywalker, Luke’s Red Five X-Wing, Mos Eisley Cantina and others.
With the popularity of Star Wars and Lego, it’s very likely more sets from other films, including “The Phantom Menace,” “Attack of the Clones,” “Revenge of the Sith,” “The Force Awakens,” “The Last Jedi” and “Rise of Skywalker,” would be released in the future. Lego released Smart Play in March, but introduced the new technology during Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026) in Las Vegas earlier this year in January.

In my testing, I found that the new Lego Star Wars sets to have the traditional Lego experience of building and admiring while putting the Millennium Falcon or Throne Room together, so nothing is lost with the new tech. In fact, the experience is increased with the introduction of Lego Smart Play, as the new brick system enhances my enjoyment of playing with Lego sets. If you’re a fan of either Lego or Star Wars (or both), these sets are a great way to extend your collection and further your imagination for play.
Additionally, if you’re a Lego Insider, then you can have early access to select new sets, before it officially drops. Lego Insider is the toy company’s rewards program with perks such as early access to buy exclusive sets, special discounts, digital downloads and other perks. And best of all? It’s free to join.
