“From family and friends to fans and complete strangers, thank you for showing up for us,” she concluded. “Thank you for loving our family so well. Thank you for loving Kyle. Thank you for honoring him. We may never find the words to fully express what your support has meant to us, but please know that we are deeply grateful.”
Samantha’s touching message comes two weeks after the legendary race car driver—who became one of the most decorated in the sport’s history throughout his career—died just hours following his family’s announcement that he had been hospitalized with a “severe illness.”
“Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch,” NASCAR shared in a May 21 statement to X. “A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation. He was fierce, he was passionate, he was immensely skilled and he cared deeply about the sport and fans.”
“Throughout a career that spanned more than two decades, Kyle set records in national series wins, won championships at NASCAR’s highest level and fostered the next generation of drivers as an owner in the Truck Series,” the statement continued. “His sharp wit and competitive spirit sparked a deep emotional connection with race fans of every age, creating the proud and loyal ‘Rowdy Nation.’”
