Amanda Seyfried hinted at plans for sequels to two popular movies that she starred in and opened up about epic plans for her 40th birthday later this year.
The 39-year-old Long Bright River actress sat down for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
In it, she reflected on her place in Hollywood and the sort of projects that she’s drawn to at this point in her career. She also revealed the roles that she has no interest in playing anymore.

Amanda told the outlet that she is instantly drawn to a project if she likes the people. For instance, she agreed to do The Housemaid with Sydney Sweeney and director Paul Feig without even seeing a script.
She recalled telling her agent, “Go for it. But negotiate.”
On the flip side, the actress isn’t interested in “playing the same role that I played in this and this and this and this?”
What type of roles is she talking about? “Those leading roles, where you’re just the audience and they need to see the world through you. It can get frustrating for people who like to play characters,” Amanda explained.
“The thing I used to do in my 20s and early 30s. ‘I’m young and in love, but I have to deal with all these circumstances — looking for my sister, running away from something.’ I am not interested in being away from my family for that,” she added.
There are two projects that she would be open to revisit – Mamma Mia and Jennifer’s Body.
She even had a theory for why Mamma Mia 3 hasn’t happened yet: “Producer Judy Craymer is always working on it, but Universal still has to release Wicked 2. The first Wicked had to stall when Mamma Mia! 2 was getting made. It’s an either/or situation with musicals,” she said. “And I have this theory that Universal just knows we’re going to do it, so they’re not in any rush. And it’s just going to cost double.:
As for Jennifer’s Body, Amanda noted that the movie wasn’t a huge hit at the time (despite having “all the ingredients”), but it’s become a sleeper hit.
“It aged well. I think there’s going to be another one of that, too. We’re all game,” she confirmed.
Amanda will be turning 40 this year, and she has some solid plans for the day.
“I’m turning 40, and I want to get drunk and go to Target with my friends,” she told the outlet. “I want to get properly brunched and walk around Target for as long as I f-cking want.”
