World Cup 2026: Henderson has surgery in USA after breaking arm

Henderson made one appearance as a substitute in England’s 2-0 group stage win over Panama, which saw him become the first men’s player to play at four World Cups.

The England players have started gathering in front of supporters after every win at the tournament to sing with the fans.

But it is is understood England manager Thomas Tuchel is set to instruct his players to avoid jumping over the hoardings to ensure there is no repeat of Henderson’s injury.

Henderson’s injury adds to manager Thomas Tuchel’s selection worries as he prepares for Saturday’s quarter-final against Norway in Miami on Saturday.

Declan Rice, Reece James and Marc Guehi all missed group training on Wednesday, instead doing their own individual programme indoors.

Guehi sat out training as a precaution because of a muscular problem, while Declan Rice is managing an issue with his hamstring and lower back.

James has not played since picking up a hamstring problem in England’s opening game with Croatia.

There is no suggestion the trio will be unavailable for the Norway game.
