Kenny Chesney had these Today cohosts from hello.
Craig Melvin, Dylan Dreyer and Al Roker hilariously joked that the country singer’s Sept. 17 performance on the morning show was so good they might not come into work the next day.
After all, Kenny’s epic performance of three songs for the Citi Concert Series on the Rockefeller Plaza made the trio completely forget what day it was.
“We’ve been talking,” Al admitted on Today Sept. 17 after the singer finished serenading the crowd with his 2026 song “Get Along.” “It’s almost thrown us off because the vibe is Friday. It’s such a Friday vibe.”
In fact, Craig, 47, and Dylan, 45, said the mix-up could even affect whether viewers would see them on their screens the next day.
“If you don’t see us tomorrow, you know what happened,” Craig joked, while Dylan chimed in, “Yes, we got confused.”
Indeed, Kenny—who is gearing up to release his 21st album, Silver Sands Marina, on Sept. 25—put on quite the concert for Today, also performing “Carry On” and the record’s title track for fans.
