The Pitt on HBO’s streaming service, Max, has quickly risen in the ranks to become one of the most popular shows on TV right now.
Being praised for its accuracy, great performances, and interesting concept, the series was quickly renewed for a second season.
If you don’t know, the show takes place over 15 hours during one shift at a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania emergency room.
Season 2 will follow this same format – with each episode being one hour of that ER shift.

Executive producer R. Scott Gemmill confirmed at Deadline‘s Contenders TV event this weekend that season two will take place over Fourth of July weekend and is already in production. They also confirmed the season 2 “shift” will also be 15 hours, aka 15 episodes.
Season 1 is still airing on Max weekly, and the team of doctors and nurses have been dealing with a mass shooting. The finale airs on April 10.
The show stars medical TV vet Noah Wyle, who previously appeared on the smash-hit ER. Tracey Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shabana Azeez also star.
