While there are plenty of friend breakups in Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney assures that the feuds don’t extend to real life.
After the show’s final season aired, concluding on May 31, the 28-year-old addressed speculation that cast members have been feuding, leading to an effect on production.
“We all grew up together on this show,” Sydney told Vanity Fair in an interview published June 9, “so it’s honestly crazy to watch how much social media and the press spin things.”
As for speculation that the now A-list cast had difficulty filming together due to scheduling conflicts, the Anyone But You star refuted the idea, explaining that they all were contractually obligated to prioritize HBO and Euphoria above other projects.
“I was in first position to HBO,” she said. “So the moment they say, ‘Hey, this is the first day of filming,’ I’m legally not allowed to do anything else. So my schedule doesn’t affect the show. And so that was funny to watch everybody spin narratives on it.”
She added, “All of us were in first position, so it wasn’t like any of our schedules were holding it up.”
