‘Slow Horses’ Season 6 Sets September Release Date, First Look at Lenny Rush

The Slow Horses are galloping towards their sixth season.

Apple TV has confirmed the hit TV series, which follows a group of misfit MI5 agents demoted to the Gary Oldman-governed Slough House, is set to return to the streamer on Sept. 16.

The six-episode season will drop once-weekly on Wednesdays through Oct. 21.

Season 6, which is based on Mick Herron’s sixth and seventh novels “Joe Country” and “Slough House,” will see MI5 boss Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) embroil the Slow Horses in a “fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge” resulting in them having to go on the run.

Jack Lowden returns as River Cartwright for Season 6 alongside Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, Tom Brooke as J.K. Coe, Jonathan Pryce as David Cartwright and Hugo Weaving as Frank Harkness.

Also returning are Joanna Scanlan as Moira Tregorian, Samuel West as Peter Judd MP and Ruth Bradley as Emma Flyte. They will also be joined by newcomer Lenny Rush.

Co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe adapted the books while Adam Randall directs.

The show is produced by See-Saw Films, with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Oldman executive producing.

“Slow Horses” launched in 2022 on Apple TV and quickly became one of its most popular shows, with numerous BAFTA and Emmy nominations, including for Oldman, Chung, Pryce and Lowden. Last year director Randall took home the Emmy for directing for a drama series.
