The “Scrubs” revival at ABC is undergoing some cast changes ahead of its second season (and the show’s 11th season overall).
Ava Bunn, who starred as Dr. Sam Tosh in the first revival season, has been upped to series regular status for the second season. Meanwhile, both X Mayo and Joel Kim Booster — who played Nurse Pippa Raymond and Dr. Kevin Park respectively — are not returning to the series.
Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke are all returning once again. Fellow original cast members Neil Flynn, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Robert Maschio are all returning in recurring guest star roles, while Christa Miller and Phill Lewis will guest star.
New cast members Vanessa Bayer, Rachel Bilson, Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi, Amanda Morrow, and Michael James Scott will again appear in recurring roles.
The official description for the new season states, “J.D., Turk and Elliot have leveled up from interns to icons at Sacred Heart. Now, the respected doctors inspire the next generation while balancing the ups and downs of working in a hospital. Together with characters new and old, they are navigating this next chapter with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.”
The revival of “Scrubs” was well received by audiences. According to Nielsen data exclusively reported by Variety, the show ranked as one of the top 25 broadcast shows of the 2025-2026 broadcast season.
Bill Lawrence created the original “Scrubs” and executive produces via Doozer Productions along with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Braff, Faison, and Chalke all executive produce in addition to starring. Aseem Batra serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Mike Royce, Mathew Harawitz, Randall Keenan Winston and Michael Spiller also executive producing. 20th Television is the studio.
