“American Mayhem,” the new syndicated half-hour clip series hosted by Larry the Cable Guy, is getting a linear cable platform as well. Paramount Network has ordered 13 episodes of “American Mayhem” from producer V10 Entertainment.
The 13 episodes, which will launch Friday, Nov. 13, at 9 p.m. ET, will be new and original to Paramount Network. The deal is separate from the 52-episode syndicated version of “American Mayhem” distributed to stations by CBS Media Ventures.
Here’s the logline for “American Mayhem”: “With his signature heartland humor, Larry the Cable Guy guides viewers through a fast-paced collection of funny, unexpected and relatable moments captured across America. From backyard mishaps and weekend DIY disasters to pets stealing the spotlight and celebrations that don’t go as planned, ‘American Mayhem’ finds the humor in everyday life, with clips spanning small towns, ball fields, family gatherings and more.”
“‘American Mayhem’ reflects the humor and unpredictability of everyday life in an entertaining way,” said Laurel Weir, head of programming and acquisitions for Paramount Media Networks and chief research and insights officer for TV Media, in a statement. “Larry the Cable Guy is the perfect comedian to bring these moments to life, with his natural ability to connect with audiences. We’re excited to partner with V10 Entertainment to bring this new format to Paramount Network with a host whose voice and perspective make it distinctly his own.”
“American Mayhem” is executive produced by Larry The Cable Guy, Maggie Houlehan, Carter Skeath, Rick De Oliveira, Josh Vodnoy and John Stevens. The syndicated version of “American Mayhem” is cleared across major markets including WLNY New York, KCAL Los Angeles and WCIU Chicago.
“Larry doesn’t just make people laugh; he understands the people he’s making laugh, and that’s what makes him so uniquely suited for ‘American Mayhem,’” said V10 Entertainment president Carter Skeath in a statement. “The show embraces the funny, unpredictable, rough-and-tumble side of Americana that feels right at home on Paramount Network. It’s also another opportunity to build on a partnership we genuinely value with an incredible team at Skydance.”
Added Larry the Cable Guy, in a statement: “I watch a ton of the shows on Paramount Network and to see ‘Mayhem’ premiere on their platform is something I’m really excited about — nothing celebrates this country like watching somebody’s uncle fall through a lawn chair.”
