New Monsterverse Series Adds Corey Stoll, Ralph Ineson, Nyasha Hatendi

The upcoming “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” prequel at Apple TV has added three new cast members.

Variety has confirmed that Corey Stoll (“Imperfect Women,” “Appropriate,” “Billions”), Ralph Inneson (“The Witch,” “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”), and Nyasha Hatendi (“Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials,” “Casual”) will all appear in the new series, which was originally announced in December 2025.

They join series lead Wyatt Russell, who will again play Lee Shaw, as well as Millie Brady and Pilou Asbaek. Exact character details for those besides Shaw are being kept under wraps.

Stoll is repped by Suskin/Karshan Management, UTA, and SRDA Law. Ineson is repped by Gordon and French and Gersh. Hatendi is repped by The Artists Partnership, Principal Entertainment, Granderson Des Rochers and Gingham PR.

The logline for the show states, “The series will follow the story of Colonel Lee Shaw (Russell), an American operative who in 1984 went on a secret mission behind enemy lines in an attempt to stop the Soviets from unleashing a horrific new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War.”

Joby Harold is writing, executive producing, and showrunning via Safehouse Pictures. Harold is currently under an overall deal with series producer Legendary Entertainment and is developing multiple Monsterverse shows. Tory Tunnell of Safehouse also executive produces along with Russell, Andy Goddard, Kyle Bradstreet, Jim Skotchdopole, Max Borenstein, Chris Black, and Alex Boden. JD Dillard will serve as director and executive producer. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of the Godzilla character. Toho licensed the rights to Legendary for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.”

Deadline first reported the castings.
