Gene Hackman will be honored during the 2025 Oscars on Sunday (March 2) by his former costar, Morgan Freeman, according to a new report.
The two-time Oscar winner and his wife Betsy Arakawa were found deceased in their home this week, sparking an investigation into what happened. He was 95 years old.
Ahead of the awards show, a member of Gene‘s family said that a special tribute had been organized for the actor.

The actors previously shared the screen in 1992′s Unforgiven. The movie received nine nominations at the 1993 Oscars and took home four. Gene won Best Supporting Actor for his performance, earning him his second Academy Award.
Gene and Morgan joined forces a second time in 2000′s Under Suspicion.
The outlet reported that Gene‘s family was not going to be attending the Oscars this year.
An investigation into his and Betsy‘s passing is still ongoing. However, carbon monoxide poisoning was ruled out as a possible cause of death.
