Mikey Madison is shedding light on her own social reckoning.
The Oscar winner—who plays real-life Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen in The Social Network’s forthcoming sequel The Social Reckoning—shared insight into her decision to step away from having an online presence.
“It was just a personal choice I made a really long time ago,” Madison exclusively told E! News at the movie’s world premiere in New York City Oct. 4. “I’ve never really been on social media.”
But her outlook on the digital world made her especially equipped to play Haugen, who worked alongside reporter Jeff Horwitz, played by Jeremy Allen White in the film, to uncover and expose the internal documents known as the “Facebook Files” in 2021.
“She’s she is such an incredible woman,” the 27-year-old said of Haugen. “I certainly don’t know if I’ve ever been as strong and brave as she has been in her life, but I think that’s something really incredible to strive towards.”
