Lisa Kudrow on Friends Writers’ Behavior

Lisa Kudrow Alleges “Brutal” Friends Writers Discussed Their “Sexual Fantasies” About Costars

Lisa Kudrow knows her Friends costars would be there for her when the rain starts to pour, but she is less sure about the writers.

Over 20 years after the legendary sitcom also starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc concluded, Kudrow alleged that the set wasn’t always as friendly as the show’s name.

As she told The Times in an interview published April 23, “There was definitely mean stuff going on behind the scenes.”

Indeed, while the cast itself was actually thick as thieves when the cameras stopped rolling, Kudrow claimed the writers were not—especially when lines got fudged in front of their live studio audience.

“If you messed up one of these writers’ lines or it didn’t get the perfect response, they could be like, ‘Can’t the b—h f–king read?’” she recalled. “‘She’s not even trying. She f–ked up my line.’”

But, according to Kudrow, that was not as bad as what the writers would allegedly say behind closed doors.
