Lionel Richie has endless love for his grandbabies.
One month after the American Idol judge’s daughter Sofia Richie welcomed her son with husband Elliot Grainge, he shared insight into being grandpa to Henry Grainge and his older sister Eloise Grainge, 23 months.
“I’m so happy about that,” Lionel told E! News in an exclusive interview at the King’s Trust fifth annual gala in New York City April 29. “Pop Pop is here.”
An ever-present grandparent, the “All Night Long” singer teased that at this point, Sofia and Elliot “wanna get me away from the baby.”
For the 75-year-old—also Pop Pop to daughter Nicole Richie and Joel Madden‘s kids Harlow, 18, and Sparrow, 16—watching his grandkids grow up has been better than any trophy.
When Sofia and Elliot welcomed their daughter in 2024, Lionel quipped to E! that October, “I could just stick her in my pocket and take her around town. Amazing.”
