“Once a day Riley & I look over at each other to say ‘I can’t believe we made him,’” she continued in a Sept. 17 Instagram post alongside adorable pics of their little guy. “I would live through every hard thing 1,000 times again, knowing it all lead to a present, loving life with this kid. Thank the universe he is here.”
But before her happily ever after, Frances was candid about the difficult chapters in her life. In fact, less than two years after she was born, Kurt died by suicide at 27 years old, which she previously admitted is a part of her story she still grapples with.
“I wish I knew the cadence of his voice, how he liked his coffee or the way it felt to be tucked in after a bedtime story,” she shared in an April 2024 Instagram post. “I always wondered if he would’ve caught tadpoles with me during the muggy Washington summers, or if he smelled of Camel Lights & strawberry nesquik (his favorites, I’ve been told).”
