See Knicks Star Josh Hart’s Sons Take Over Press Conference Interview in Adorable Moment
Some slam-dunk milestones require major sacrifices from the WAGs.
Just ask James Dolan. After all, the New York Knicks owner urged players to abstain from sex as they prepared to win the NBA championship, which they did June 13 after the 94-90 Game 5 final against the San Antonio Spurs.
“I had this idea that maybe you should give up sex for the next 10 weeks,” Dolan told the players in a March pep talk shared on Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s Roommates Podcast June 15. “The Spartans, they denied themselves so that they could have an edge. Get the edge.”
“Go home. Talk to your wives,” he continued, teasing, “don’t tell them it was my idea, but let them know what this is going to be like, what your commitment is going to be like and how they’re going to have to sacrifice, too.”
The 71-year-old—who took charge of the Knicks organization after becoming Madison Square Garden’s chairman in 1999—emphasized the team needed to keep any personal troubles off the court and away from practices.
