Khiara Keating: Man City goalkeeper turns down offer of new deal

She was called up to the England squad for June’s crucial Women’s World Cup qualifying matches against Spain and Ukraine but missed out with a concussion.

She was part of the triumphant Euro 2025 squad and made her England senior debut at Etihad Stadium in October in a friendly defeat by Brazil.

However, Keating lost her place in Sarina Wiegman’s squad at the start of 2026 and will want to regain her spot before next year’s Women’s World Cup.

One of the WSL clubs interested are Liverpool, who are in the market for a goalkeeper after Jennifer Falk’s successful loan move ended in May and hopes for a permanent deal fell through.

Liverpool boss Gareth Taylor worked with Keating during his time at City, handing her a WSL debut and overseeing her breakout campaign in 2023-24.

He remains an admirer, but the goalkeeper has several options on the table.

Keating has proven to be one of the country’s best young goalkeepers, impressing in several high-profile matches at City.

In the 2023-24 season, aged 19, she became the youngest goalkeeper to win the WSL Golden Glove award, keeping nine clean sheets in total.
