Jean Paul Gaultier has launched a new couture fragrance, just in time for spring — and also Mother’s Day gifting.
The French fashion house, has extended its Gaultier Divine fragrance line with a fruitier, more decadent take on the original scent, called the Gaultier Divine Couture. Yara Shahidi is an ambassador for the new release, which is available now on on Jean Paul Gaultier’s website, priced at $173 for the 3.4 oz bottle. 1 oz and 1.7 oz sizes also available.
The new scent leans into one of the biggest movements in fragrance right now: gourmand notes. Gaultier Divine Couture is built around raspberry, meringue and benzoin, resulting in what the brand describes as a fruity amber fragrance. The raspberry brings a bright, juicy opening, while meringue adds a sweet, airy center and benzoin gives the drydown a warmer, more sensual finish.
Like many fashion house’s beauty products, the luxe packaging is as much of the story as the scent itself. Divine Couture arrives in a lacquered pink version of the brand’s iconic corset-shaped flacon, this time wrapped in a woven, couture-inspired bodice and finished with a gold piercing detail. The design nods directly to Gaultier’s long-running fascination with lingerie and armor — themes that have defined the house since the designer first turned underwear into outerwear on the runway.
Divine Couture joins the broader Gaultier Divine lineup, which includes the original Gaultier Divine Eau de Parfum, Gaultier Divine Le Parfum and Gaultier Divine Elixir. While the original Divine scent is centered on salty notes, fleur de lys and meringue, the new Couture edition pushes the franchise into a sweeter, more ambered direction.
The fragrance is available to shop now at JeanPaulGaultier.com, where orders over $55 qualify for free delivery and purchases of the new fragrance currently come with a complimentary tote bag, according to the brand’s site
