After a month-long hiatus, Andrea Kimi Antonelli of Team Mercedes has 72 points after three races (F1 Japanese Grand Prix was the previous event back in March). His teammate George Russell came in second with 63 points, so Mercedes is in the lead at the top of the leaderboard, but Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari are in third and fourth place. Lando Norris of McLaren rounds out the top five. However, the season is still new, despite two canceled events, as F1 travels to the United States for the first time this season.

The F1 Miami Grand Prix takes place at Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida. Practice 1 begins on Friday, May 1 with a start time of 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT. Race day is Sunday, May 3 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT. Check out a complete F1 2026 season schedule here.
