The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off starting on Thursday, June 11, with matchplay stretching until Sunday, July 19 with the championship final match. For the 23rd edition of the international soccer tournament, all three nations in North America host matches, teams and fans in 16 cities, like New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Mexico City, Miami and others.
If you want to catch all of the soccer action this summer, matches broadcast on FOX and FOX Sports in English and Telemundo and Universo in Spanish. The tournament also livestreams on FOX One and Peacock, respectively.
Ahead of tournament play, there are three opening ceremonies that take place about 90 minutes before the first match in each host nation. In Mexico City, Shakira and Burna Boy headline the show, with Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs and other set to perform on Thursday, June 11, with a start time of 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT.
Meanwhile, both opening ceremonies in Canada and the United States take place on Friday, June 12. In Toronto, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé and others perform starting at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT, while Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla perform in Los Angeles at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT. Additionally, the World Cup may be a draw to a number of celebrity soccer fans, such as Idris Elba, Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Prince Harry, Andrew Garfield, LeBron James, Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, Will Ferrell, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Will Smith and others. World Cup livestreams from Telemundo and Universo are accessible on Peacock, so the best way to watch the tournament in Spanish is to get a subscription to the streaming services starting at $10.99/month.
Not a subscriber? You can get a Peacock monthly subscription to stream World Cup matches online, and keep it to watch other hits movies and TV shows — including “Wicked: For Good,” “Hamnet,” “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair,” “Oppenheimer,” “The Traitors,” “Vanderpump Rules” and others.
