Throughout the World Cup several stats have been kicked around—from goals and assists to shots and saves. But there are some other numbers that have also taken midfield—including the height of the players.
Take Florian Wiegele, for instance. According to FIFA, the 6-foot-9 goalkeeper from Austria is the tallest player to ever make a World Cup team—a record previously held by Andries Noppert, a 6-foot-8 goalie who competed at the 2022 World Cup for the Netherlands.
Other tall players to take the pitch this year include England’s defender Dan Burn, Colombia’s goalkeeper Alvaro Montero as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina center-back Stjepan Radeljic, with FIFA listing all of their heights at 6-foot-7.
