Drake Reveals ‘Iceman’ Album Release Date

Drake has announced that his ninth studio album, “Iceman,” is scheduled for release on May 15.

Waiting for Drake‘s official “Iceman” release date was something akin to… well, watching ice melt. On Monday, he revealed that he’d buried the album date in the middle of blocks of ice that were set up in Toronto as a promotional vehicle for the record. On Tuesday, a streamer named Kishka retrieved a bag from the ice blocks and headed to Drake’s house, where he opened the contents to reveal the date. Drake later confirmed on social media that the album was, in fact, arriving on May 15.

Drake has been teasing the project as far back as 2024, when he referenced Val Kilmer’s character nicknamed “Iceman” in “Top Gun” on social media. Soon after, he shared a screenshot of a folder titled “2.0 – Iceman” of what was presumed to be songs for the record.

Drake began concretely teasing the album in July 2025, when he debuted his livestream “Iceman Episode 1” on YouTube. During the stream, he previewed several songs including “What Did I Miss?,” which was released to streaming platforms the following day. He followed suit with two other livestreams where he debuted new tracks and instrumentals including “Which One” featuring Central Cee and “Dog House” featuring Julia Wolf and Yeat, both of which were put on streaming.

“Iceman” marks Drake’s first full-length solo outing since 2023’s “For All the Dogs” and his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar. In August 2024, he released a massive folder of unreleased music, studio footage and behind-the-scenes clips along with three songs including “It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, “Housekeeping Knows” featuring Latto and “Blue Green Red.” A few weeks later, he put out three other new songs — “Circadian Rhythm,” “SOD” and “No Face” featuring Playboi Carti — via his Instagram burner account @plottttwistttttt.

In February 2025, he teamed with PartyNextDoor for the collaborative album “Some Sexy Songs 4 U,” which spawned the hit single “Nokia.” “Somebody Loves Me,” a song off the record, was nominated for melodic rap performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
