Drake Reveals ‘Fear of Missing Out’ Teaser

Drake on Saturday released a teaser for “Fear of Missing Out,” a “not so short film” set for release on Sept. 15.

Fans have long speculated whether “Fear of Missing Out” would be an album, a music video or a world tour. With the teaser’s release, Drake revealed that “FOMO” is some sort of film. Drake dropped the teaser on Instagram and wrote in the caption that the project was a “not so short film directed and scored by the family.”

The teaser shows a man, presumably Drake, zooming across a calm ocean in a neon green speedboat. A woman narrator says over the footage, “What if I told you there were two versions of your life? In one, you avoid risk and withhold love. You feel like you’ve gone missing from yourself. You look for something you can’t find. In the other version of your life, you find it.” The teaser then drops the title card for “Fear of Missing Out,” which Drake revealed on Sept. 3, along with the release date.

Drake’s last major release came when he dropped the long-rumored “Iceman” album, along with two more surprise records, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour.” The three albums had a total of 43 songs and featured collaborations from Future, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, Qendresa, Molly Santana, Central Cee, Popcaan, PartyNextDoor, Loe Shimmy, Iconic Savvy and Stunna Sandy.

The five-time Grammy winner is no stranger to elaborate rollouts. While promoting “Iceman,” Drake installed a 25-foot-tall ice sculpture in a Toronto parking lot.
