Doechii opened up about her signature look.
Over the weekend, the 26-year-old rapper picked up her very first Grammy at the 2025 ceremony. While onstage and on the red carpet, her face was pulled back with visible face tape.
If you were unaware, face tape is a beauty product that is used to give the impression of a lifted appearance to the wearer’s face, especially around the eyes. However, the edges of the tape are usually concealed.
Doechii leaves her tape on full display and has for a while now. She recently explained the very simple reason for the look.

“Okay, so the face tapes are there on purpose because it’s c-nt,” Doechii explained in a TikTok, which she posted in November 2024.
Plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Rukmini Rednam weighed in on the signature look.
“I think in the past people were secretive about cosmetics and procedures they’ve had because they felt that they might be judged for wanting to look different,” she told People. “Following along with the trend of celebrities being more open about their treatments, I think Doechii is happy to share that she uses this product to get a certain look without any shame or regrets.”
Doechii delivered an emotional speech while accepting her Grammy onstage. She also heated up the stage with her performance.
