Officials have determined Liam Fitzgerald‘s cause of death.
The fitness influencer died from blunt force injuries sustained in an Oct. 30 motorcycle crash, with his manner of death ruled as an accident, a spokesperson for Broward County’s Office of Medical Examiner and Trauma Services told People Nov. 4.
Fitzgerald’s girlfriend Jamie Lyn Rinaldi previously confirmed his passing, sharing that the 29-year-old “suffered severe injuries” in the crash.
“Despite the efforts of those who tried desperately to save him, they were unable to bring him back,” Rinaldi wrote on Instagram on Oct. 31. “There are no words to describe the heartbreak of this loss.”
It was a sentiment shared by his family, who remembered Fitzgerald as a “shining light.”
“He had a way of lighting up every room he walked into, a personality impossible to forget, and a heart that loved deeply,” they shared in a Nov. 1 statement posted on his Instagram. “From family and friends to teammates, strangers, and people around the world, he inspired so many. He loved his people fiercely and would protect them with everything he had.”
