Miyu Yamashita returns as defending champion and looks to become the first back-to-back winner since Yani Tseng, with the Japanese star out in the late-early wave alongside world No 2 Jeeno Thitikul and Lauren Coughlin.
The two players to have both won multiple majors this season have been grouped together for the first two days, with world No 1 Nelly Korda and Haeran Ryu out early on Thursday with New Zealand’s Lydia Ko.
