Tom Holland is getting real about his brand new role.
Over four years after he was announced to play Fred Astaire in a biopic, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day star has finally begun the rehearsal process, sharing why he feels some anxiety about taking on the role of the legendary dancer.
“For me, what I love about my job is the challenges,” Holland shared during an interview with Good Morning America that aired on July 20. “We have Fred Astaire next, which is what we’re planning on doing. And as soon as I finish with these tours, I’m diving back into the dance studio.”
And while the 30-year-old—who has been on back-to-back press tours for The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day with wife Zendaya—comes from a dance background, his first few dance rehearsals for the Astaire biopic had him feeling a little off beat.
“It both filled me with excitement and absolute dread,” Holland told GMA‘s George Stephanopoulos, “because I’ve got so much work to do to try and do Fred proud.”
