“Fourth Wing” fans can now test their dragon-riding skills off the page.
Goliath Games has announced the launch of “Fourth Wing: Rise of the Wingleader,” a new board game based on Rebecca Yarros’ blockbuster Empyrean series. The tabletop adaptation officially arrives July 15 — a date known to fans as Conscription Day — and is available to pre-order on Amazon for $24.99.

“Fans have made ‘Fourth Wing’ a cultural phenomenon, and we wanted to honor that passion with a game that feels like a true extension of the Empyrean universe,” Julie Doverspike, Goliath Games’s global games brand director, said in a statement. “From exclusive character artwork to fan-selected creative elements, every decision was made with the community in mind. We’re excited to celebrate Conscription Day by inviting players to step into the world of Basgiath and forge their own path to becoming Wingleader.”
The game brings players into the world of Basgiath War College, the brutal and elite military academy at the center of Yarros’ romantasy saga, where cadets train to become dragon riders. Inspired by the bestselling series, “Rise of the Wingleader” features riders, dragons, romance and original character artwork of fan-favorite leads Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorson.
Each copy also includes a metal Tairn bookmark that doubles as a first-player marker, giving readers a collectible keepsake that also functions as part of gameplay. A Bookseller Variant, featuring exclusive collector packaging, will also be available through participating book retailers. The fan-first approach extends to the game’s design. According to Goliath, “Rise of the Wingleader” was created by a team of dedicated “Fourth Wing” readers. In addition, Tairn’s character art was selected through an Instagram fan vote.
The release arrives as the “Fourth Wing” franchise gets a TV adaptation from Prime Video, with Yarros attached as executive producer.
Goliath will promote the launch with live gameplay events at two major fan conventions this summer. Attendees at Gen Con can visit the Lucky Duck booth, No. 2827, for ongoing demos throughout the convention. The company will also host a San Diego Comic-Con activation with Den of Geek, with details to be announced.
Fans can also enter social giveaways tied to Conscription Day on July 15 and Threshing Day on Oct. 1 for the chance to win one of two immersive prize kits inspired by the world of “Fourth Wing.”
