Netflix is working on the upcoming fifth season of Emily in Paris and it has been confirmed that Lucien Laviscount will be back as a series regular, though Lucas Bravo‘s status is still unknown.
Lucien joined the show in season two as Alfie, a new British love interest for Emily. While he was upped to series regular in season three, he bumped down to a recurring status in season four because of scheduling issues.
Deadline reports that he will be back as a series regular for the fifth season, though it’s not yet clear if he’ll still be a love interest for Emily or if he’s mainly there as Antoine’s business associate.

At the end of season four, Gabriel has a revelation that he wants to be with Emily, but Lucas doesn’t seem to want to continue with the show.
Speaking to Telegraph last year, Lucas said that he was tempted to move on for a “tiny moment” when his character’s story got a little down. “It was like, we’re losing the cheeky, fun, playful Gabriel that I love, and it’s getting very melancholic and negative,” he said.
Deadline reports that Lucas doesn’t have a multi-year contract with Netflix and he has to sign on for every season. Negotiations for season five “are ongoing, and they have been promising,” the outlet reports.
