The Writers Guild of America Awards nominations have been postponed until Monday, Jan. 13, due to the Southern California fires.
A statement provided to Variety by WGA West and WGA East reads: “With Los Angeles under a state of emergency due to multiple wildfires, we will be delaying the announcement of nominees until Monday, January 13, 2025.”
The move follows the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences extending its nomination voting period by two days and moving its 97th Oscar nominations announcement from Jan. 17 to Jan. 19.
