The Sky Sports Racing cameras head north to Sedgefield on Friday for some jumps action, before attention switches to Wolverhampton’s evening All-Weather fixture.
4.50 Wolverhampton – Sirius A & Anthelia contest hot conditions race
A fascinating race to kick things off at Wolverhampton sees Anthelia and Sirius A clash in the Free Bets On attheraces.com Conditions Stakes.
Anthelia enjoyed a super two-year-old campaign, winning five races including the Group Three Dick Poole Stakes at Salisbury. That form gives her leading claims as she tackles the all-weather for the first time.
Sirius A has some excellent placed form in higher grades and rates a big player for James Horton and Jack Mitchell.
Plenty have chances including top-rated Tadej, while Ten Carat Harry, Comical Point and Lady Kodiac are others to note in an open affair.
3.38 Sedgefield – Goodoldbill and Jongleur d’Etoiles do battle
Four runners are set to go to post in the bet365 Handicap Chase up at Sedgefield.
Goodoldbill had been out of sorts until winning over this course and distance in February before following up at Newcastle. He shoulders a 5lb penalty but makes appeal under Peter Kavanagh.
Jongleur d’Etoiles ran well and was only beaten a head at Doncaster last month, looking right back to his best, with the potential for more to come from the seven-year-old.
Mobile Mamma has a bit to find with Goodoldbill, while Defence Witness complete the quintet.
10.16 Keeneland – Notable Speech & Rhetorical lock horns
A cracking renewal of this Grade One Maker’s Mark Mile sees Notable Speech headline for Godolphin.
The Charlie Appleby-trained five-year-old is a four-time top-level scorer and finished last season with a ready success in the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Del Mar. He looks the one to beat in here and should provide his trainer with a second win in the race.
William Walden’s Rhetorical took the Coolmore Turf Mile over this track and trip last season and rates the chief threat if the favourite underperforms.
