We have a busy day’s racing on Tuesday with action from Southwell and Wolverhampton live on Sky Sports Racing

8.30 Wolverhampton – Francesi eyes Horse of the Year prize

The final race at Wolverhampton on Tuesday is an intriguing one as the race for All-Weather Horse of the Year heats up and there could potentially be three of the leaderboard’ss top 10 facing off in the Win £250,000 With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap.

Francesi for Tony Carroll is currently third in the standings thanks to a successful sequence this winter which included four wins and five seconds and has the £100,000 prize in his sights.

David Simcock’s Mr Nugget had also been in great form before disappointing three days ago at Newcastle. He had placed in eight of his previous nine runs and David Egan takes over in the saddle here for the first time since November.

Aisling Oscar may have his final run of a record-breaking all-weather campaign here which included an incredible eight consecutive wins. Adrian Keatley’s five-year-old is also declared to run over six-furlongs on Monday so there is no guarantee he will appear here but if he does line-up he should definitely be taken seriously on this step back up in trip.

6.00 Wolverhampton – 800,000gns yearling Montevetro features for Godolphin

Godolphin’s 800,000gns-yearling Montevetro will face four rivals in the Create Your Bet Builders At Midnite Maiden Stakes at Wolverhampton on Tuesday.

The son of Mehmas is a half-brother to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Mac Swiney and he finished second on debut at Chelmsford 17 days ago when looking fairly green. The jockey booking of Billy Loughnane is a positive for Charlie Appleby’s three-year-old who will be looking to get off the mark at the second time of asking.

The chief threat may come from the Sea The Stars colt Royal Standard who finished fifth on debut in a race won by the exciting Oxagon. Andrew Balding has a good record at Dunstall Park and he’ll be hoping the step up in trip is exactly what his three-year-old wants.

Edward Bethell’s Starspangledbanner-colt Stepanov disappointed on debut when sent off favourite at the back end of last year and his handler will be hoping this expensive purchase can show some improved form here on this step up in trip.

Echo Valley for Tom Symonds and Cribbins for the Osborne’s make up this field of five.

8.00 Wolverhampton – Half-sister to Cercene bids to remain unbeaten

Four go to post in the penultimate race at Wolverhampton on Tuesday in the Midnite Aint Your Grandads Bookie Novice Stakes over the minimum trip.

James Tate saddles Starman filly Time To Take Off who is a half-sister to Coronation Stakes winner Cercene. The three-year-old got off the mark on debut at Nottingham in the autumn and hasn’t been seen since but the form of that Nottingham race has been boosted with both the second and fifth winning since and Arc winning jockey Rossa Ryan is booked for the ride.

The main threat to James Tate’s filly may come in the form of Merlier for Hollie Doyle and Archie Watson who wasn’t seen at two but was narrowly denied on debut but got off the mark two weeks ago when comfortably scoring at Newcastle.

Burdett Estate is also a last time out winner for Brian Toomey who outran odds of 12/1 when scoring over course and distance in December and that course experience will put him in good stead to run another strong race.

Grant Tuer saddles Dolo’s Star who’s the final runner in the field and finished fifth on her sole career run in the race won by Archie Watson’s Melier.

Panama Black, Mollie Foster and Rossa Ryan’s mount Farasi Lane are others to note.
