Today on Sky Sports Racing: Jo Coko faces Planned Paradise in Hexham feature | Racing News

It’s a jam-packed day on Sky Sports Racing, with Hexham and Hereford hosting Jumps action alongside Lingfield’s Flat meeting.

3.41 Hexham – Recent winners Jo Coko and Planned Paradise clash

The rearranged BK Racing Hexham Marathon Handicap Chase sees Jo Coko and Planned Paradise headline a field of 11.

The Nicky Richards-trained Jo Coko got off the mark at the second attempt over fences when seeing off Hillcrest in January and given he looks like a proper stayer, this extra distance could suit.

Christian Williams’ Planned Paradise returned to winning ways when readily claiming a Bangor handicap with a bit to spare. He has been raised 9lbs in the weights but rates an intriguing contender upped again in trip.

Shighness was second in this race last year, only beaten half-a-length by Betterforeveryone. She is off a 7lb lower mark this time around after some disappointing outings, but is of interest given her course form for the Micky Hammond yard.

JP McManus’ Wal Buck’s has some strong form to his name but must bounce back from a poor display at Haydock, while the consistent Court At Slip has place claims again.

5.22 Lingfield – Caviar Cowboy and Comprador contest trappy novice

A trappy BetMGM Supports Safer Gambling Novice Stakes where Caviar Cowboy and Comprador headline a field of nine.

Caviar Cowboy represents James Fanshawe and Daniel Muscutt and arrives having finished an excellent second at Kempton on his return form a short break. The winner is now rated 90 and he will be fancied to break his duck at the third attempt.

Ed Walker’s Comprador is the main danger for Ed Walker and Kieran Shoemark. A son of No Nay Never, he has finished third on both starts to date at Lingfield and Newcastle and has a bit to prove having failed to land the odds on the latter occasion.

Shavkat took a Lingfield maiden on his debut before running third at Doncaster and makes his debut for Hilal Kobeissi, having joined from Roger Varian.

4.00 Hereford – Best Night popular for the Pipe team

Best Night will be fancied to follow up in the Sunshine Radio Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at Hereford.

David Pipe’s doubled her tally over hurdles when securing a narrow success at Huntingdon earlier this month and this looks an ideal opportunity for her to score again off this 4lb higher mark.

Arnie Moon is yet to win in five starts but ran with more promise when fifth on his last start at Taunton and could have more to offer now tackling handicap company under Callum Pritchard.

Four-year-old Madame De Labrunie is another to note for the Fergal O’Brien and Jonathan Burke combination.
