‘The End of Oak Street’ Trailer: Anne Hathaway vs. Dinosaurs

Anne Hathaway versus cosmic dinosaurs? Consider us intrigued.

Hathaway stars alongside Ewan McGregor in “The End of Oak Street,” which is set to be released theatrically in North America on August 14. The cast also includes Maisy Stella, Christian Convery, and, per the end of its first trailer, a dinosaur.

Per the official synopsis, “After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.”

Things are kept mostly under wraps in this trailer, which spotlights the family vibe and the gnawing concern that something isn’t right, alongside jarring footage of a suburban street torn sunder.

“It Follows” director David Robert Mitchell wrote and directed “Oak Street,” with J.J. Abrams as a producer, alongside Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper. Executive producers include Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee and Leeann Stonebreaker.

Michael Gioulakis serves as director of photography, with production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, composer Michael Giacchino and costume designer Erin Benach.

The film has had a long development period, which included several date changes, starting with May 2025 before jumping to March 13, 2026, and now holding firm to the August 14 date. The film was also initially named “Flowervale Street.”

Beyond this movie, Hathaway has an extremely busy 2026, including “Mother Mary,” a pop star thriller from A24 coming out in April; “The Devil Wears Prada 2” in May; “The Odyssey” in July; and “Verity” in October.
