Sunglass Hut is making its first official move into sports, teaming up with the New York Liberty as their “Official Sunglass Partner.”
The partnership begins with the 2026 WNBA season, which will feature dozens of activations, including in-store experiences, limited-edition product drops and in-arena integrations at the team’s home Barclays Center. The partnership marks Sunglass Hut’s first formal sports collaboration and comes fresh off the heels of Liberty’s 2024 championship win.
A key component of the launch will arrive in June, when Sunglass Hut debuts a curated assortment dubbed “Ellie’s Picks,” a nod to the Liberty’s beloved mascot, alongside team-inspired styles. The collection will be available online and in select New York City stores.
“Sunglass Hut choosing the Liberty for its first sports partnership speaks to the strength of our brand and the impact of our players and fans,” Liberty CEO Keia Clarke said in a statement. “This collaboration allows us to create experiences that connect sport, style and community while continuing to elevate women’s basketball.”
Following their 2024 title run, anchored by a star trio of Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones, the Liberty have continued to position themselves as a perennial contender heading into the 2026 season. Off the court, Liberty players have leaned into their growing cultural capital: Ionescu, Stewart and Jones have appeared at events like the Met Gala and New York Fashion Week, while the franchise has secured fashion-forward partnerships with brands ranging from Off-White to emerging New York designers.
The WNBA 2026 season officially kicks off May 8.
