“He wanted to be on stage when the audience came out, and he was like, ‘They need to see my face!’” The Newsroom alum recalled. “‘I was like, ‘What?’ Then he ran out on stage, so John had to run after him and carry him back like a log. And later, he goes, ‘When I was onstage, everybody clapped and they were thinking: How did John Mulaney get so small? But it was me the whole time.’”
But Malcolm hasn’t limited his humor to one stage. In fact, the little one tested a hilarious yet unplanned joke at his parents’ wedding in July 2024.
“Over the summer, he was a 2-year-old,” John, 43, explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last March. “He was at our wedding in a little tuxedo and shorts. He actually went to the bathroom in his diaper during [the wedding] and announced it mid-vows. A very sweaty little 2-year-old in a tuxedo just went, ‘I’m pooping!’”
