Zendaya has addressed the AI wedding photos of her and Tom Holland that went viral after her stylist, Law Roach, said earlier this month that the two had tied the knot.
The “Euphoria” and “Spider-Man” star made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday night, during which the late-night host brought up the speculation over her wedding. “I’m sure you know the internet has gone berserk with stories that you might actually be married to Tom,” Kimmel said.
“Really?! I haven’t seen any of that!” Zendaya replied sarcastically. Though she didn’t confirm the nuptials, what appeared to be an engagement ring and wedding band glimmered on her left hand.
When Kimmel mentioned the AI photos, Zendaya laughed and said that “many people have been fooled by them.”
“I was just out and about in real life and people were like, ‘Oh my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real!’” she added.
The actor said that “many people” in her personal life were also fooled by the AI photos and were mad they didn’t get an invite. Zendaya then teased a video of her and Holland’s supposed wedding — which was actually just a clip from her new movie “The Drama” with a photo of Holland’s face pasted over co-star Robert Pattinson. “A little something to just clear the confusion,” Zendaya said with a cheeky grin.
During the interview, Kimmel also asked Zendaya about upcoming Spider-Man film “Brand New Day,” in which she stars with Holland. She said that she’s seen “a good amount” of the film, which releases on July 31, and “I feel very good about it.”
She added: “It’s such a huge part of our story, obviously, and we grew up making those films. And it’s such a privilege to be able to do them. I know Tom cares so much about the role and doing it justice.”
When Kimmel called Holland the “best Spider-Man ever,” Zendaya blushed and replied: “I’m biased, but yes!”
