Malcolm in the Middle’s Erik Per Sullivan Missing Revival: Cast Reacts

Life’s still unfair—and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Nearly two decades after the Malcolm in the Middle cast took their final bow, Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek and more are back for Hulu’s revival Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.

“What’s really fun about getting to come back when we did is that when we saw each other, it was as if no time had passed,” Muniz told E! News in an exclusive interview. “We all had stories to tell, but we still felt really, really close, like a family.”

A sentiment they all could relate to. “We were celebrating the chance to do this,” Cranston told E! in a joint interview with his onscreen wife Kaczmarek, “and knowing what it would feel like accomplishing that.” However, missing from the four-episode run is Erik Per Sullivan, who played Malcolm’s younger brother Dewey. Because he’s booked and busy with other priorities, like getting a master’s degree in Victorian literature.
