Lindsey Vonn Shares Injury Update After Crash, Surgeries

Lindsey Vonn hasn’t lost her strength.

More than one month after the alpine ski racer crashed while competing at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics—leaving her with a broken left tibia—she shared a major accomplishment in the gym amid her ongoing recovery.

In a March 21 Instagram video, Lindsey, 41, performed six pull-ups unassisted before lowering her body down onto a step stool and resuming use of her crutches, fist bumping her trainer and excitedly flashing her tongue at the camera to celebrate her achievement.

“First set of pull ups post surgery,” she wrote alongside the clip. “Slowly getting there!”

Following the incident, the Olympic gold medalist—who subsequently underwent a series of surgeries on her leg—has been candid about her highs and lows, both physically and mentally. In fact, she recently explained that her progress has been anything but a linear process.

“Today was a hard day… my physical battle began the second I got hurt but the mental battle started today,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Feb. 24. “It hit me like a ton of bricks.”
