Lindsey Vonn Considers Skiing Comeback After Olympics Injury

Lindsey Vonn is not interested in sticking to the bunny slopes.

As the skier continues to recover from injuries sustained during a crash at the Milano Cortina Olympics in February, she’s looking at her long-term goals. In fact, the incident hasn’t pushed Vonn to hang up her skis, instead motivating her to potentially try again.

“I never got a final run, I never got to say goodbye,” the 41-year-old told Today on April 7. “I think it leaves a door slightly open.

She continued: “Maybe I would do one more race to say goodbye. Maybe I’ll race again. It might be fun to do one more run. We’ll see.”

Further emphasizing where she stands her possible future on the mountain, when Today anchor Craig Melvin asked if she’s seriously entertaining a comeback, Vonn quipped, “I mean, much to my family’s dismay, yes.”

The gold medalist’s 2026 Olympic dreams were shattered after she crashed while competing in the women’s downhill final on Feb. 8. Vonn could be heard screaming in pain and was airlifted to the hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery to fix her broken left tibia.
