Khartoon Weiss, VP and general manager of global business solutions at TikTok who oversaw its North American and global brands and agency business, is leaving the company after more than five years.
Weiss’ last day at TikTok is Friday, April 10. She announced her departure in a memo to clients Tuesday, a copy of which was obtained by Variety, saying that “I’ve decided to pursue a new opportunity.”
In a subsequent post Tuesday on LinkedIn, Weiss wrote, “And just like that… a new chapter. Very proud of what we built at TikTok. Even more excited for what’s ahead. More soon…”
TikTok’s ad sales leads for the U.S. and Canada remain the same — Joshua Bloom and Nik Djukic, respectively.
Weiss’ exit comes after TikTok’s U.S. business was forced to become a separate joint venture with new ownership structure. In January, under a deal brokered by the Trump administration, ByteDance sold a majority stake in TikTok’s U.S. business to non-Chinese investors, including Oracle, Silver Lake and Abu Dhabi’s state-owned investment firm MGX. Beijing-based ByteDance retains 19.9% of the joint venture; the deal brought ByteDance and TikTok into compliance with the U.S.’s TikTok divest-or-ban law that went into effect in January 2025.
Weiss had joined TikTok in August 2020. Previously she worked at Spotify as global head of verticals. Before that, she served as chief marketing officer at MDC Media Partners and managing director at MediaCom North America. Earlier in her career, Weiss worked at BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather and Grey Worldwide.
