Jane Levy Joins Dan Goor & Luke Del Tredici’s Comedy Pilot at NBC

Jane Levy is the latest addition to the cast of Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici’s NBC comedy pilot about private investigators.

Levy joins previously announced cast members Jake Johnson and Keith David in the pilot, which was picked up at NBC in January. Few plot details are available for the untitled single-camera show, with the logline simply stating the pilot “Continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles private eyes that began with Philip Marlowe and will end with this show.”

Levy will play Faye, a “whip smart” investigative journalist who is described as “smart, resourceful and a force of nature.”

The role brings Levy back to NBC, where she starred in the popular musical dramedy “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.” The show lasted two seasons at the broadcaster, with Roku commissioning a finale film in 2021. Levy received a Golden Globe nomination in 2021 for her work in the show. Her other TV credits include “Suburgatory,” “Shameless,” “Castle Rock,” “What/If,” and the Showtime followup to “Twin Peaks.” In film, she is known for roles in features like “Fede Álvarez’s “Evil Dead” and “Don’t Breathe.”

She is repped by UTA, Rise Management and Sloane Offer.

Goor and Del Tredici are co-writing and executive producing the pilot. Akiva Schaffer will direct and executive produce, with Johnson producing in addition to starring. Universal Television is the studio.

This is not the only pilot about a private investigator presently in the works at NBC. The Peacock network is also prepping a reboot of “The Rockford Files,” with David Boreanaz attached to play Jim Rockford.
