Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso Skip Hannah Montana Anniversary Premiere

Although they were absent from Monday night’s “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” premiere in Hollywood, Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso took to social media to reminisce about their time starring on the iconic Disney Channel series.

Osment, who couldn’t attend the premiere due to scheduling conflicts with her show, “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” shared a video to Instagram on Monday while on the set of the CBS sitcom. In her post, she thanked all the “Hannah Montana” fans for 20 years of support.

“We are at the ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ set, and that’s why I was not able to be a part of the 20-year reunion, because we are here shooting our show,” Osment said in the video, alongside her “Georgie and Mandy” co-star Montana Jordan. “But I wanted to say hello and thank you to everybody that has stuck by us for all these years. I’m so grateful that you guys all still love the show. I’m so proud to be a part of it… We appreciate you. Lots of love.”

Musso posted a statement on Instagram on Monday, shouting out all of the viewers who “grew up right alongside us.” He wrote that “the coolest part” of the “Hannah Montana” legacy is seeing fans “building families” and passing on the show to their kids. Musso did not mention why he skipped the premiere in his post.

“Miley [Cyrus], Emily [Osment], Jason [Earles], Billy Ray [Cyrus], Moisés [Arias], and the whole crew at Disney — you became my family through all the real, messy, beautiful moments,” Musso wrote. “Thank you for believing in a goofy kid from Texas who wore some questionable outfits with a haircut like that. To all of you, thank you for welcoming me into your homes and hearts 20 years ago and still allowing me to be here today. I’m honored we get to share all of this together.”

The “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” debuts on March 24 on Disney+ and Hulu. It features star Miley Cyrus singing fan favorite tracks from the series, an interview by “Call Me Daddy” host Alex Cooper and a surprise appearance from fellow Disney kid Selena Gomez. Gomez guest-starred on “Hannah Montana” Season 2 as rival pop star Mikayla Skeech.
