Ava DuVernay is shining the spotlight on her love.
Indeed, the Selma director went public with her relationship at the 2026 Oscars as she made her red carpet debut with her boyfriend.
When asked by Essence to fill in the blank on the red carpet of the March 15 ceremony, in response to “I am proud of myself for…,” Ava beamed as she held her man’s hand and replied, “Right now I am proud of myself for coming to the Oscars with my honey.”
“Who I’ve kept hidden for a long time,” the 53-year-old added, while smiling at him, “and now he’s here.”
Ava and her boyfriend proved they were the perfect match as he coordinated his classic navy blue tuxedo with her navy blue Louis Vuitton gown.
After the ceremony, Ava and her love kept the romance going as they arrived at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party where they held hands while walking the carpet.
