Alexander Skarsgard can be seen shirtless throughout his new Apple TV+ series Murderbot, in which he plays a robot, and he’s opening up about needing to wax his body for the project.
In a high-tech future, Alex plays a rogue security robot who secretly gains free will. To stay hidden, it reluctantly joins a new mission protecting scientists on a dangerous planet… even though it just wants to binge soap operas.
The show just debuted on Apple TV+ today (May 16) and the 10 episodes will continue to roll out across the coming weeks.
Alex, 48, opened up to USA Today about getting rid of his body hair for his role.

“I made the completely stupid choice to be completely hairless,” he said. “So I waxed my entire body. Like a Brazilian wax, but top to toe. I was screaming. And then I had to keep doing it for six months for a long shoot. That was a terrible idea.”
Executive producer Chris Weitz chimed in, “This was not at all our demand. He thought it was right for the character. He regretted it.”
