Porn Star Rocco Siffredi Set For Italian Drama ‘Blue’

Rocco Siffredi, the retired global porn star whose life story inspired Netflix’s recent series “Supersex,” is to star in “Blue,” an Italian drama set in the erotic social media world.

Shooting is underway in Italy’s central Marche region on the film, which according to promotional materials revolves around a young female student named Luce contending with “tough choices” as she navigates the deceptive world of erotic websites and social media. The indie film is directed by first-timer Eleonora Puglia.

Italy’s PiperFilm is handling international sales and will release “Blue” in Italy.

Alongside Siffredi, the “Blue” cast also includes young Italian actresses Alexia Cozzi (“Love Dilemma,” “Studio Battaglia”) — who plays Luce — and Shaheen Barletta (“Prisma”). Siffredi plays Luce’s father.

“Blue” is a co-production between Italy’s Camaleo Film and Poland’s Agreswyna Banda, with support from the Marche Film Commission and Lazio Cinema International.

Siffredi, who has made roughly 1,400 hardcore films, officially retired from performing porn in 2022 though he continues to direct and produce adult movies. His Budapest-based Rocco Siffredi Production company, which houses the Siffredi Hard Academy, is touted as the world’s first “university of porn.”

Outside of the porn sphere, Siffredi has previously starred in two arthouse pics by French auteur Catherine Breillat, “Romance” (1999) and “Anatomy of Hell” (2004), and in several Italian films, most recently Marco Risi’s Christmas comedy (“Natale a 5 stelle”).

Siffredi was also the subject of the documentary “Rocco,” directed by French duo Thierry Demaiziere and Alban Teurlai, which screened at the 2016 Venice Film Festival.

“Supersex,” which premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival before dropping on Netflix, starred Alessandro Borghi as Siffredi; Jasmine Trinca as Lucia, a fictional female character; Adriano Giannini as Rocco’s half-brother Tommaso; and Saul Nanni (“The Leopard”) as Rocco as a young man.
