On Mexico’s Pacific coast, Hilton Vallarta Riviera swaps Cancun’s Caribbean blues for the Bay of Banderas, golden sunsets and the surrounding Sierra Madre Mountains — a particularly photogenic combination for couples who want their ceremony scenery to do much of the decorating for them.
The resort has an 11,840-square-foot convention center as well as a 16,469-square-foot Beach Club, with 10 flexible convention-center venues capable of hosting groups of up to 900. The latter also gives couples an oceanfront setting for outdoor receptions rather than limiting the celebration to a conventional ballroom.
Hilton Vallarta Riviera also stands out for the range of ceremonies its team explicitly accommodates. The resort welcomes LGBTQ+ weddings with Equality Institute-certified planners and says its event team is versed in cultural and faith traditions from around the world. Depending on the couple’s plans and applicable local requirements, the resort can help coordinate symbolic, non-denominational and select legal ceremonies
Its Signature, Devotion, Cherish and Cherish Captured packages scale from relatively streamlined ceremonies and cocktail hours to four-hour private receptions with three-course meals, DJs, live music, dance floors, photography and outdoor fountain fireworks. The higher-end packages can also include a semi-private rehearsal dinner for up to 30 people, wedding-day getting-ready room and room upgrades for members of the wedding party.
Dining can also become part of the wedding weekend, with restaurants highlighting regional Mexican cuisine, Italian favorites, seafood and poolside beverages. There are 12 restaurants and bars, including six specialty restaurants: Maxal moves through regional Mexican cooking, from Mexico City street food to Oaxacan mole and Michoacán-style carnitas, while La Luce serves Italian and Italian-American dishes from an artisanal stone oven. Hilton also highlights fresh seafood at Cocomar, and drinks extend beyond the usual frozen resort cocktail with premium wines, spirits and made-to-order tropical drinks delivered poolside.
