And while J.D. scrubs into a new romance with Charlie, Elliot may be diving back into a relationship with ex-boyfriend Sean Kelly (Scott Foley). And everyone on set definitely cared that the Felicity alum was returning for the revival.
“He just fits into Scrubs so well,” Chalke, 50—whose character dated the marine biologist/dolphin trainer on and off in seasons one and three—beamed. “Some of our favorite moments are him riding the dolphin.”
“He plays such a great straight man to JD, and we had so much fun,” she continued. “Even in the first season, it was like, ‘Who do you want to come back?’ We were all like, ‘Oh, we hope Scott Foley can come back.’ It was great that it worked out.”
The three co-stars—who are also all executive producers on the revival—know they can’t do this all on their own. So, they’re grateful that, along with Foley, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn, Christa Miller and John C. McGinaley will be returning for season two.
