Wonka’s Golden Ticket Contestants Go Bananas Over Candy Sorting Emergency You Have to See to Believe
There’s no earthly way of knowing which direction these Wonka’s Golden Ticket challenges are going.
In E! News’ exclusive look at the upcoming Netflix competition series, based in part on the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder, the show’s contestants find themselves abruptly awoken from their marshmallow beds over a candy emergency.
“Sorting machine malfunctioning,” a warning blares from the loudspeakers. “Candy levels critical.”
Needless to say, the surprise left a sour taste in some contestants’ mouths. As choreographer Gabrielle exclaimed, “What kind of emergency could you have in a chocolate factory?”
Fellow contestant Jackson also wasn’t sugarcoating his feelings, with the bartender quipping, “This factory doesn’t just produce chocolate and candy, it produces stress as well.”
And once contestants were led into the sorting room by the show’s resident Oompa-Loompas, they quickly realized there’s so much time and so little to do—wait a minute, strike that, reverse it—as they stood in front of conveyor belt and a wall of giant tubes that, hopefully, does not lead to the fudge room.
